Neuromatch mentors.
During the Academy, students get professional development mentorship.
Mentors bring more than knowledge; they bring guidance, connection, and opportunity. Across institutions and disciplines, our mentors share their broader experience and career insights, helping students chart a path forward in computational science. Many students say that connecting with their mentor is one of the most meaningful aspects of their journey.
Have a global impact
As a project mentor, you’ll help spark curiosity, guide discovery, and have a profound influence on the careers of emerging researchers from around the world. In 2025, we have students enrolled from 96 countries, which shows our truly global community.
Make connections
You may discover new collaborators, gain fresh perspectives, and build connections with peers across institutions and disciplines. You’ll also have the opportunity to network with researchers with similar research experience. We’ll highlight our mentors at the end of the program on our social media channels.
Matched to you research interests
You'll be matched with a student group according to your research interests. If you're open to mentoring more than one group, even better; your impact will multiply!
What's expected of mentors?
Small groups with big impact.
Over the course of the Academy, you'll meet with small groups of students. No preperation is needed! Just share your experiences and answer questions. It is about 1.5-2.5 hours of commitment.
Past mentors
Mentors dedicate multiple hours of their time meeting with students during the course. Thank you for all your support of Neuromatch and Climatematch Academy students!
A huge thank you to the 131 Project Mentors who joined us for the 2025 Academy and 143 Project mentors for the 2024 Academy. Each mentor supported at least one project group to create a good research question, think through data analysis, and prepare for a project presentation.
Apply to be a mentor
Current recruitment is closed. We will open applications in April or May.
